1. The supplier is to provide advocacy training for between approximately 200-240 Legal Practice staff in a mock court-room environment utilising best practice in the advocacy training curriculum, pedagogy and teaching techniques, and assessment frameworks.
The training will be provided in 6 to 8 separate workshops during 2016 across Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide or Perth as agreed and determined between the CDPP and the supplier.The workshops will include components of theoretical training/briefing, practical demonstration and appearances in simulated court-room proceedings and targeted recording and review of appearances with instructors.
The training will be targeted to address the needs of CDPP Legal Practice staff at their different stages of development and experience, that is, introductory, intermediate and advanced.The supplier will provide experienced instructors/facilitators at all workshops. 2. In consultation with the CDPP the supplier will develop course materials that incorporate scenarios and courtroom practices and procedures familiar to CDPP Legal Practice staff including:• Contested hearing in Local/Magistrate Courts• Committal hearings – including submission-making• Sentences• Examination-in-Chief• Cross-examination• Submissions• General advocacy techniques and skills.
